The less stuff that’s collecting dust, the better. Otherwise, your allergies might act up.
A clean home is also much easier to keep clean through regular vacuuming and dusting.
3. Keeps the pests away
You never want to see ants or cockroaches roaming around your kitchen or bathroom. Or anywhere in fact!
If you keep your home well-maintained and clean, there won’t be any food laying around for bugs to be attracted to.
4. Better sleep

When it comes to getting restful slumber, a clean house is key. When you have everything put away and there’s nothing on the floor, it’s easy for everyone to relax better at night.
A clean house keeps your bedtime routine simple and encourages everyone to get ready for bed earlier. This leads to more sleep time, which equals a healthier lifestyle overall.

Have you experienced any of these benefits of having a clean home? How do you keep your house looking it’s best?

These are all great points! I also hate cleaning, but the benefits of having a clean home always make it worth a few hours of effort 🙂 x
You really have a point in everything you mention. When my home is a mess it is so hard for me to stay consentrated. It makes me feel frustrated and cannot feel calm at all.
Since I am working from home and spend way too many hours inside cleaning often has become a habit cause I simply cannot stand it otherwise. I do hate cleaning as well but I hate it even more not to feel nice in my home. Really liked reading this. Thank you!
I’m a clean freak! I deep clean once a week. It’s great to find out having a clean house decrease stress and helps with sleep!
Great post, thanks for sharing!

Hello! I totally agree with this post!! I am in such a better mood if I have a clean house and I always feel more productive doing things! Great post as always, can’t wait to read more! Alicia
Very good thoughts on this. I dislike cleaning but I make sure I do it in small chunks of time.
Thanks Jamie!
Great post.
I am actually planning on doing a big house clean this weekend. I do love cleaning, but I’m much more relaxed about it these days. I would rather spend time with family or work on my blog.
I am also throwing things out, having a furniture move around and we adding a new feature wall.
Looking forward to refreshing the house.
Ooh the feature wall sound great! Would love to see the result! Just a few small changes in our home can make it feel completely new, can’t it?!
Yeeeeessssss!!!!!!! So true! These are the benefits of having a clean home. That’s why doing chores is a must. My Saturday morning is always my home cleaning day. Hehehe.
My Saturday morning routine too Fadima!
I have noticed that when I clean, the air feels much better and it’s easier to fall asleep that night. Great post.
Yes, same! I have asthma so I always have to ensure there’s little dust so I can breathe easier.
I actually really like to clean – I find it helps de-stress me in the moment. And these are all great points about the benefits of having a clean space.
I wish I liked to clean haha! I love to declutter but actual cleaning isn’t my favourite. That’s great that you find it helps to de-stress!
I am a cleanliness freak. Everything has to be neat, tidy, organized – though sometimes keeping your home clean can be a lil difficult and time consuming but overall it does make you feel better to have a clean and neat environment to live in. Thanks for this post Vourneen.
Thanks Alicia!
I don’t always enjoy cleaning my home but the end result definitely feeds into all the good vibes and energy of having a space looking and smelling fresh! I love how positive it can be even when it feels like a bit of a chore sometimes!
I agree! The end result makes me feel so calm and a weight lifted off my shoulder!
Great post! I definitely agree with all of these benefits. I deep cleaned my entire apartment last week and felt so good after it was done!
That’s really great Isabelle!
I LOVE having a clean house but I struggle getting the motivation to clean. It’s a bit of a logistical nightmare trying to clean with a baby as he’s all over the place and I have to try watch him!
Corinne x
Oh gosh, I can imagine it would be very difficult with a little baby!
These are all great points! I always feel much happier and am much more productive when I have a clean home. I also find that cleaning is a good way of evacuating stress!
Julia x
Thanks Julia! Yes, I find it helps me to destress too, but I also feel so much calmer once it’s all done and I can enjoy the clean space 🙂
I think my two most favorite and relevant were less stress. It is unbearable to be standing in a house or sleeping or eating that is dirty or messy. And the warm welcome. A house that is full of cleaning chores to do after a long day of work is depressing again. Like the post! Xx

I agree! My favourite thing about having my place clean and tidy is that anyone can just pop in for a visit without me feeling stressed about having to clean up!
I’m glad you talked about how a clean house helps you keep bugs and animals away! Recently, my wife and I moved into another house, and we haven’t gotten the time to deep-clean it. We’re worried about getting roaches or something, so we’ll be sure to go get some cleaning products and start cleaning! Thanks for the advice on why we must clean our home regularly!
