Do you ever feel like your mind is racing and there’s so much noise in your head that you can’t find inner peace? We’ve all got so much going on in our daily lives that finding inner peace can almost feel impossible.

But I’m here to tell you that manifesting peace of mind is in fact possible.

And, while it can’t be done overnight, with just a few steps you too will be able to manifest inner peace.

It might just mean you need to change your overall outlook, let go of negative thoughts and make some positive changes within your life.

When you have peace of mind, you’re more in control of your feelings. It helps you control your emotions, remit calm energy and be a better person.

Understanding Peace of Mind

Inner peace refers to a state of mental and emotional calmness. It’s when your mind and heart are in harmony with each other, allowing you to feel content and grounded.

Allowing yourself to let go of negative thoughts and emotions and to live in the present moment helps you with manifesting inner peace.

The world is a challenging place, and when you have inner peace, you’ll be able to respond to these challenges in the right way, rather than having elevated emotions and stressful thoughts surrounding them.

Factors Affecting Mental Serenity

There are several factors which can affect your mental peace:

  • Stress: High levels of stress can disrupt your peace of mind. Identify the cause of your stress and find the best ways to cope with it effectively.
  • Environment: Your surroundings are going to impact your mental state. A cluttered and chaotic environment can lead to mental chaos. Maintain a tidy and organised space to encourage a peaceful mindset.
  • Relationships: Healthy relationships contribute to a sense of peace, while toxic relationships and emotional turmoil can disturb it. Surround yourself with supportive, loving people to foster serenity.
  • Self-awareness: Understanding your emotions and thought patterns helps you pinpoint any mental roadblocks to attaining peace of mind.

13 Ways to Manifest Peace of Mind

The more you practice the below in the manifestation process, the easier it will be to reach your specific goals in terms of inner peace.

1. Embrace the art of letting go

One thing we humans do is hold onto a lot of baggage – past mistakes, grudges, heartaches and hurt.

Forgiveness doesn’t come easily, but it tends to hold a lot of space in our minds. And while it’s never ok for someone to hurt you, and you may never forget a hurtful incident, when you make the conscious decision to forgive it has a positive effect on your peace of mind.

But forgiveness doesn’t just belong to others, you have to learn how to forgive yourself too. We all make mistakes and get involved in difficult situations at some time or other. Let go of your past mistakes and instead manifest happiness for your future.

2. Simplify your life

When you think of simplifying your life, I imagine the first thing that comes to mind is to declutter your home. And this is definitely part of it. When our home space is full of clutter and mess, we have a tough time sifting through our thoughts and feeling calm.

However, a clear space has a calming effect on us. It gives us space, energy and time, which in turn makes room for inner peace.

But it’s not just our physical space that needs decluttering. Sometimes our schedules, boundaries and to-do lists need to be cleared too.

Set clear intentions for your ultimate goal – whether it’s to have a space of your own in your home where you can go and take a breather, or time in the morning to have your coffee in peace – and put this into action.

3. Practice mindfulness

Incorporating some aspect of mindfulness into your daily routine is another way of manifesting peace of mind.

One way to practice mindfulness is through regular meditation practice. Try to find a quiet space where you’ll have zero distractions, even if it’s just for 15 minutes a day.

Start by taking some deep breaths and focus on the rise and fall of your breath. Tune out any background noise and let yourself feel the sensations of your body.

If your mind starts to wander (and trust me, it will) try to guide your focus back to the present moment.

After these 15 minutes each day, you’ll come out having more positive thoughts and a more peaceful mind.

If you struggle to switch off from distractions, try listening to some calming music or mindful meditations on

4. Disconnect from technology

Pretty well every single one of us is stuck to their phones or laptops or some form of technology throughout the day. It’s what comes with living in this modern world.

We spend so much time scrolling and reading and playing on our devices that we’re not actually living in the present moment, spending time with our families or being a good friend.

While it’s difficult to disconnect, especially with work or having to be on call, try to carve out some time every day that you can put your devices completely away from you.

If you find it too hard and keep picking up your phone, you could try something like the Freedom App, which allows you to set time to block certain apps or your entire phone so you won’t be tempted to use it. It’s especially handy if you keep getting distracted by your phone while in work.

The less you use your devices, the more you realise you don’t actually need to be glued to them constantly.

5. Find time for stillness

We tend to move at such a speedy rate – always so busy and rushing around trying to get things done. When what we really need to do is… slow down.

Finding quiet and stillness gives us a much needed break from the chaotic noise of the world.

It’s only in these moments of stillness that we can truly feel inner peace, with zero distractions or to-do lists waiting to be done. We can listen to our subconscious mind and body and hear exactly what they need at that point in time.

6. Limit exposure to negative news

A lot of bad news pops up on our phones and TVs daily. And it’s difficult to not get completely overwhelmed by the influx of negative news.

From natural disasters to terrorism and conflicts. It seems every day there’s something new appearing on our screens.

One way to manifest inner peace amid all this negativity is to limit the amount of time you’re exposed to it. Bad news can take a toll on our mental health as we dwell on it.

And if you tend to read or watch the news at night before going to bed, you’ll likely carry that with you overnight, which may affect your quality of sleep.

Limiting your exposure to negative news can make way for more peaceful energy and thoughts to enter our consciousness.

7. Spend time with loved ones

Our friends and family hold a special place in our heats. With them, you can truly be yourself and let your guard down. You feel comfortable and in the presence of people who know you inside and out.

When we spend time with these people, we open our minds to genuine connections and heartfelt conversations, and everything on the outside just fades away into the background.

These moments of togetherness are what makes us feel balance and serene energy.

8. Practice self-compassion

We’re our own harshest critic. We live in a world where we’re constantly comparing ourselves with others, striving for perfection, and self-criticising, and we forget to be kind to ourselves.

However, when we choose to practice self-compassion, we open the door to embracing our imperfections, acknowledging our struggles and treating ourselves the same way we would treat a friend or family member.

Self-compassion encourages us to respond to our flaws without berating ourselves or dwelling on self-judgment. Instead, we should show kindness, patience, and a genuine desire for healing.

When we practice self-compassion, we create a safe space within ourselves for the growth of inner peace.

9. Spend time in nature

It’s amazing how being outside in nature can alter our state of mind. Nature has an incredible ability to calm the mind and reduce stress.

Being outside in nature reminds us to slow down, think, reflect, and let go of any baggage we’re carrying around with us behind.

Try to get outside each day, or at least a few times a week for a walk in nature – by a lake, or a forest, or the beach. It really is one of the most underrated things we can do for clarity and peace of mind.

10. Express gratitude

Gratitude isn’t just about being thankful, but rather it’s a practice that allows us to shift our focus from what we lack to all that we have. It’s what helps us build a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity

One way people express gratitude is by writing in a gratitude journal each day. In it, you can include what little joys you enjoyed throughout the day, as well as other positive aspects.

Try to take a moment every day to reflect on what you’re grateful for – whether it’s writing in a journal or just thinking it, or even paying it forward as an act of kindness to someone else.

11. Get enough sleep

We, as humans, often have a difficult time making sure we get enough sleep. Because it’s the last thing we do each day, it’s often something we don’t priortise. But lack of sleep can be detrimental to our physical and mental health and it certainly makes it difficult to maintain inner peace.

Sleep helps us to recharge our mental batteries and when we’re well rested, our minds are more focused and clear. We’re able to face our challenges and problems with clarity.

12. Prioritise self-care

We often tend to prioritise work, family and other responsibilities, but forget to look after ourselves. But self care shouldn’t be a luxury – it’s an essential for manifesting peace of mind.

Making time for things like exercise, rest and healthy eating does wonders for our overall wellbeing. When we make self-care a priority, we’re giving ourselves permission to pause, breathe, and recharge. It’s like hitting the reset button for our minds and bodies.

And when we’re physically strong and vibrant, it becomes easier to face the challenges that life throws at us, allowing us to solve them with a greater sense of calmness.

13. Let go of what you can’t control

Loosening the grip on what’s beyond our control is the simple secret to finding that inner calm we all crave.

Think about it: when we try to hold onto things we can’t change, it’s exhausting and we end up frustrated. But by consciously releasing our grip, we set ourselves free from all that unnecessary stress.

Letting go isn’t about throwing in the towel and becoming a doormat though – it’s about what we can influence in our lives and take charge of that, rather than things that we have no control over.
