Disclaimer: The products mentioned in this post were gifted to me by Poster Store. However, please note that all opinions are completely my own and this is my honest review.

When I moved into my apartment four years ago, I was so excited to decorate it in my style. And I did just that! But for some reason, my creative endeavours never made it as far as my bedroom, and the walls have remained bare all this time. That was until Poster Store came along. And I jumped at the chance to create my very own sustainable gallery wall using their posters.

I had always envisaged creating a serene space in this room because it’s the room where I spend a lot of time relaxing and recuperating from illness. The thing is, when it comes to finding artwork to buy, frames that match and that work with my space, it can get really expensive!

That’s why an online company like Poster Store appeals to me so much. Not only do they offer a great selection of Scandinavian designs, they also use sustainable materials for their posters and frames!

Who are Poster Store?

Poster store are a Swedish company who design and sell beautiful and affordable Scandinavian designs.

They have a huge selection of designs available across multiple categories including travel, architecture, nature, animals and more!

All of their posters and prints are printed on sustainable material (more on that below).

How to choose your posters

If there was a hard part to the entire process, this would be it! There’s such wide range of posters that you’ll want to keep scrolling and scrolling so you don’t miss out on anything!

  1. Decide on an overall theme for the posters that you want to display in your home. As I mentioned, I wanted a serene space. Something that felt peaceful and calm. Poster Store has helpfully categorised some themes to make it helpful for you to choose, such as travel, nature, animals.
  2. Pick a colour scheme. I wanted something that went with the majority of my bedlinen and curtains, so I chose a blush / beige colour scheme.
  3. Decide how many posters you want and how big. I liked the idea of having different sizes to put together.
  4. Choose your frames to match your posters. There are lots of different colour frames, made from various materials, but I chose the black wooden frames as I liked the contrast.
  5. Place your order! It’s as easy as that. And your order should be with you within 2-4 working days.

My sustainable gallery wall picks

Sustainable Gallery Wall Posters

A few things I love in life are travel, nature and animals and I wanted to try to incorporate these into my serenity space.

Sustainable gallery wall with POster Store

My first choice was this majestic elephant. I loved the simplicity and lightness of this design, which would go with my colour scheme and theme. I wanted the elephant to be the focal point of my gallery wall so I ordered the large 70cmx50cm frame. I also have a slight obsession with elephants – which is also probably why I went for one of the largest options available!

Waterfall poster sustainable gallery wall

My next print was this beautiful waterfall. Again, I opted for a simple design, keeping with the same colour scheme. The waterfall represents my love of travel and I know that it will definitely help me to relax and unwind. This frame size was the 50cmx30cm.

Sand falling through hand poster

The sand falling through the hand print was chosen because of where I live. The desert! If I ever leave Dubai, this print will be a remembrance of the time I spent camping or driving through the desert – my little desert adventures. For this one, I ordered the A4 frame.

Calm and feathers prints

I chose the typography print, which says ‘Calm’, because I loved the font used in this particular print. You can almost feel the calm running off it. I also chose this pink feather print as I felt the texture and colour would bring all the other prints together.

5 Reasons to Love Poster Store

Sustainability Efforts

I write about sustainability on my blog so I was really impressed when I learnt of Poster Store’s efforts to minimise the environmental impact of their products.

Their high-quality sustainable wall art is printed in Stockholm on ecological paper and their printing partner is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, Nordic Swan Ecolabel and ISO 14001 (which are the international environmental guidelines).

These certifications mean that the wood used to produce their prints come from forests which are reasonably managed and meet the highest environmental standards.

One thing I would love to see in the future is whether they find a way to go plastic free, as there was some plastic and bubble wrap in included in the packaging for the frames and posters.

Large Poster Selection

I really enjoyed scrolling through all their unique prints and getting inspiration for what would work for me. There are so many to choose from, it can seem a little daunting at first, but I found it best to click the little heart next to the ones I loved and they get saved in your favourites so can go back to them later!

Alternately, they have helpful categories you can click on if you want to browse through a particular theme. These are different categories and themes available for all tastes.

Picture frames to match

Poster Store Frames

Poster Store’s frames comes in all sizes, colours and materials. The frames I chose were a perfect fit for the posters and they even give you guidance on what size frames to order to match the posters you go for.

You can choose from metal or wooden frames in various colours, such as gold, copper, black, white, oak or walnut.

If you didn’t want a frame, you could always try one of their poster hangers. I feel these would look especially cute in a kids room or nursery.

Gallery Wall Inspiration

I am not the best at putting things together visually. In fact, I sent about 8 options to my sister and mum to help me choose the layout I would use for my prints. But I couldn’t have done it without first going through the gallery wall inspiration page that Poster Store have put together.

By scrolling through, I was able to find inspiration as to how I should put my frames together and I must say I loved the end result.

New posters each week

Every Tuesday, Poster Store releases a new poster collection, so I just know I’ll be spending more time scrolling through all the new releases and planning where to decorate next.
